Please Note: Netscape 8 does not contain an e-mail client, and we do not consider this is a direct replacement for Netscape 7.x. Netscape 8.1.3 provides some security fixes, please see our discussion for more detail. Using the open source and most standard support - Gecko's rendering engine, Site Controls features allows you to adjust the security level (Java, JavaScript, cookies settings), and also allows you to switch to use Internet Explorer's engine to render pages when necessary. It also guarantees pages render correctly, even these designed for MSIE. Netscape 8.1.3 is based on Gecko rv 1.7.5 (20070321), with security protection in mind. Looking for news about Netscape 9?
